Obi-Wan Kenobi to start filming next month

Disney has confirmed production on new Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi will begin in April, and confirmed a host of new actors including two Star Wars veterans.

Among the new actors confirmed for the Disney Plus series are Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse who will be back as the young Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru of Luke Skywalker.

In addition, new cast members include Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie. 

The show will be set 10 years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Kenobi, played by Ewan McGregor, faced his greatest defeat, the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned evil Sith Lord Darth Vader. 

The series also marks the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader.
