The BBC is turning a children’s book written by Eric Morecambe into a TV series.

Morecambe wrote The Reluctant Vampire in 1982.

He followed it up with a sequel the following year titled The Vampire’s Revenge.

It follows a vampire prince who doesn’t like blood but prefers ‘chips and a glass of red wine’ in the village of Katchem-by-the-Throat. 

Alan Partridge writers Neil and Rob Gibbons are now working on scripts for the project.
