Classic 1960’s TV series The Avengers (not the Marvel movie) is reportedly being rebooted for the 21st century.
According to Deadline, Studiocanal, the company behind the Paddington films, is planning a new TV series, with a pilot already written.
The original series starred Patrick Macnee as the bowler-hatted Steed, who fought off diabolical plots against the state, with a succession of assistants played by the likes of Diana Rigg, Honor Blackman and Joanna Lumley.
The show was remade into a film in 1998 starring Ralph Fiennes and Uma Thurman. It did not go down well with critics or audiences.
