Sam Mendes is to direct four films about the biggest music group of all time, The Beatles.

Each of the four films will focus on one member’s point of view. They are expected to be released in 2027.

Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and the families of the late John Lennon and George Harrison have granted full life story and music rights for the films.

“I’m honoured to be telling the story of the greatest rock band of all time, and excited to challenge the notion of what constitutes a trip to the movies,” said Mendes in a statement.
