The ’90s rivalry between Oasis and Blur is being turned into a new play which is expected to open in London’s West End in 2025.

According to Deadline, The Battle will be set in 1995 and follow the two bands as they go head to head in the race for number one, Oasis with Roll With It and Blur with Country House.

According to producer Simon Friend, the play will be a “comedy with teeth”. Negotiations are said to be underway in terms of actors and directors, as well as a decision as to which of the band members will be featured in the show.

Friend said the aim is for the show to open in 2025, as that would mark 30 years since the band’s battled it out for number one.
