Emma Thompson’s musical version of Nanny McPhee may finally open in London in 2026.

Thompson has been working on the production for a number of years, but Deadline reports it’s now set to premiere in 2026.

The report quotes a source who says Thompson is now working with director Katy Rudd on the project as momentum builds.

The show is based on Christianna Brand’s Nurse Matilda stories, first published in 1964. Thompson has written the show’s book and worked on the lyrics with Gary Clark who also composed the score.
