As expected, John Lithgow will play Albus Dumbledore; Janet McTeer takes on the role of Minerva McGonagall; Paapa Essiedu will play Severus Snape; and Nick Frost has been cast as Rubeus Hagrid. All will serve as series regulars.

Newly announced guest/recurring cast include Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell and five-time BAFTA winner Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch.
