Paddington’s heading back to TV

Everyone’s favourite little bear is making a TV comeback.

Nickelodeon has snapped up the rights to a new CGI-animated series based in the books by Michael Bond, the show will be produced by David Heyman, who brought Paddington to the big screen.

As in the films, the bear from Peru will be voiced by Ben Whishaw.

The series will be aimed at pre-schoolers, and will air on Nickelodeon’s networks worldwide next year.

“We can’t wait to welcome Paddington, one of the world’s most beloved characters, to our global Nickelodeon family with a series that will take him on fun and exciting new adventures, while staying true to his original heartfelt charm and spirit,” said Layla Lewis, SVP of Global Acquisitions and Content Partnerships for Nickelodeon.
