The release date for Andy Serkis’ new Lord of the Rings film has been announced.

The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum will arrive in cinemas on December 17th 2027.

All of the original Lord of the Rings trilogy films were released in the run-up to Christmas.

The Hunt for Gollum is directed by Serkis and will see him reprise the role of the title character once again. Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens are producing the film, with Walsh and Boyens writing the screenplay.
