Nigel Planer, best known for playing hippy Neil in The Young Ones, is writing a book about his “friendships and rivalries” over his 40 years in comedy.

The book, titled Young Once, A Life Less Heavy, will be published on 25th September, with Planer reading the audiobook version.

Speaking about the book, Planer said: “I’ve been trying not to write this book since 1985, but once I started, it grabbed hold of me and wouldn’t let go.”
