Jamie Dornan has been cast as Strider (aka Aragorn) in Andy Serkis’ new Lord of the Rings film.

The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum will star Serkis as Gollum/Smeagol, with the actor also directing the film.

It’s now been officially confirmed that Elijah Wood will be back as Frodo, Ian McKellen is returning as Gandalf, and Lee Pace will play Thranduil once again.

Kate Winslet’s character has now been revealed as Marigol and Leo Woodall will play Halvard.

The film is set to be released on 17th December 2027.
