Dates for your Diary – August 23

Dates for your Diary returns with news of some upcoming events in London and Venice attracting the likes of Hugh Jackman, Tom Hardy, Mark Ruffalo, Chrissie Hynde and Ella Eyre.

Ella Eyre will be out and about this coming week promoting her debut album, Feline. She’s at the Oxford Street HMV on Monday to meet fans sign copies of the album before heading to both Leeds and Manchester on August 31 and Birmingham on September 1.

Tom Hardy will walk the red carpet at the world premiere of his new film Legend on September 3. The premiere takes place at Odeon Leicester Square and Hardy will be joined by co-stars Emily Browning, Christoper Eccleston, Colin Morgan, Tara Fitzgerald and Duffy. Hardy plays both Ron and Reggie Kray in the drama about the notorious mobsters.

Chrissie Hynde is releasing her memoir, Reckless, next month and she’ll be at Waterstones on Piccadilly on September 7 for a talk and she’ll also be playing some live music.

Hugh Jackman will be in London on September 20 for the UK premiere of his latest film, Pan. Rooney Mara and Levi Miller are also expected to attend the screening at both the Odeon and Empire Leicester Square.

The Venice film festival kicks off at the beginning of September, so here are a few celebs who have been confirmed to attend.

Mark Ruffalo and Stanley Tucci will be at the Out of Competition screening of their drama, Spotlight, on September 3. It follows the investigation by the Boston Globe into allegations of abuse by the Catholic Church.

Berenice Bejo and Robert Pattinson are among the cast walking the red carpet at the screening of their new film, The Childhood of a Leader. The film is described as a chilling fable of the rise of facism.

David Thewlis and Jennifer Jason Leigh are expected to attend the gala screening of animation, Anomalisa.
