HBO have released a new trailer for Vinyl, their big new drama series produced by Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger.
The show, which is set in the 1970s, debuts in the US in January and follows Richie Finestra, a record label president, trying to save his company – and himself – when punk, disco, and hip-hop were on the rise.
Bobby Cannavale leads the cast as Finestra. The rest of the cast isn’t too shabby either with Olivia Wilde, Ray Romano, Juno Temple, Jack Quaid, Birgitte Hjort Sørensen, Ato Essandoh, Max Casella, PJ Byrne, James Jagger, and Paul Ben-Victor all set as series regulars.
Obviously it’s going to draw some comparison with Empire, but Vinyl looks a lot more gritty than the modern-day set show.
