New Order have been confirmed to play this year’s Glastonbury Festival and now there’s a petition to get them to perform World in Motion on stage with John Barnes.
The song was originally recorded for Italia ’90 and is arguably the best football song ever recorded. I say arguably because Three Lions and Anfield Rap are pretty good too.
Glastonbury takes place from June 22 to 26, with the knockout stages of Euro 2016 beginning at the same time.
Fan Tom Sharp has launched a petition to get New Order to perform the song as part of their set and bring John Barnes along to perform his iconic rap.
As Sharp says, “for the punters in the mud at Glastonbury this year, surely it’ll be brilliant if John Barnes and Keith Allen came on stage to perform with New Order for the Three Lions anthem ‘World in Motion’.
“Let’s make this happen. Should England qualify from the group stage, the performance would go down a storm”.
Of course is England don’t get through the group stages then it’ll be as much fun as watching them take penalties against the Germans.
