Huge pinch of salt time…

According to reports, Warner Bros are secretly working on bringing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child to the big screen and they want Daniel Radcliffe back as the Boy Who Lived.

The New York Daily News claims Warners are looking to turn the play into three more films by 2020.

“Warners is secretly working on getting the movie rights and a screenplay settled, and of course in their minds only one man should be Harry,” a source told the Daily News.

“However he has made it clear that his mind is certainly not focused on returning to the role anytime soon – and that could be until he hits 40.”

Seeing as Daniel is currently only 27 and Warners want to make the film by 2020 then I don’t see how that works out.

Also, what a kick in the teeth for Jamie Parker! I know he’s not a film star in the way that Daniel is now, but to have this speculation going on while he’s originating the role on stage doesn’t seem fair.

What do you think? Should there be a film of Cursed Child? Would you want to see Daniel Radcliffe back as Harry? Or do you think the play should be allowed to tour around the world first and then, when Daniel’s a bit older, they could make the films?
