Oscar-winner Jim Broadbent is joining the cast of Game of Thrones.
The British actor is playing a “significant” role in season seven, but producers aren’t revealing what that role will be.
The penultimate season of the multi award-winning show will film in Northern Ireland, Spain and Iceland. It will be on screen next summer but only for seven episodes instead of the usual 10.
Broadbent is no stranger to fantasy having already played Horace Slughorn in the Harry Potter films.
In fact he’s now one of a number of Potter actors to have crossed over to Westeros.
Natalia Tena played Tonks in the Potter and Osha in Thrones; David Bradley played Filch and Walder Frey; and Ciarán Hinds played Aberforth Dumbledore and Mance Rayder.
