Actor Ed Harris is to make his London stage debut this autumn.
He will star alongside his wife Amy Madigan in Sam Sherperd’s family drama Buried Child at the Trafalgar Studios.
The couple performed the play off-Broadway earlier this year and will be reprising their roles as a troubled married couple, with Harris in the role of Dodge, and Madigan portraying the family’s problematic matriarch, Hallie.
“They have some dark secrets” Harris told the Daily Mail, “I think most families have a few secrets, or some strange aspect to their history. We’re all fascinated by family dynamics, but I’d much rather sit in an audience and watch someone else’s problems!”
Buried Child will run at Trafalgar Studios from November 14 until February 18
Buried Child tells the story of Dodge (Harris) and Hallie (Madigan), a couple barely hanging on to their farmland and their sanity while looking after their two wayward grown sons. When their grandson Vince arrives with his girlfriend, no one seems to recognise him, and confusion abounds.
As Vince tries to make sense of the chaos, the rest of the family dances around a deep, dark secret.
