Kelsey Grammer is to appear in Modern Family – as Cam’s ex boyfriend.

The actor will play Keith, a circus ringmaster. Fans of the show will know that Cam’s alter ego is Fizbo the Clown.

Grammer worked wi Modern Family co-creator Christopher Lloyd on Frasier. The show’s other creator Steven Levitan worked with Grammer on the less successful sitcom Back to You.

Grammer is on set this week to film his episode which should air in the US in January.
