Stephen King pens Charlie the Choo-Choo

Stephen King has written a picture book based on a story he first mentioned in Dark Tower.

Charlie the Choo-Choo, has been written by King under the pseudonym of ‘Beryl Evans’ and is illustrated by Ned Dameron.

The story follows Engineer Bob and his best friend and train engine, Charlie the Choo-Choo. The story is about friendship, loyalty and hard work.

It will be published in the US on November 22 and is expected to be released in the UK on December 1.

King first mentioned the book in his Dark Tower series, when it is bought by the story’s hero, Jake.

But in that story, Charlie the Choo-Choo is described as being untrustworthy, suggesting the picture book may not be as child-friendly as it appears.

Of course it could be a very clever marketing tool for the forthcoming Dark Tower movie starring Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba which is released in February.
