First look: Tennant and Colman return to Broadchurch

Tennant and Colman are back as DI Alec Hardy and DS Ellie Miller, and are joined by former Coronation Street actress Julie Hesmondhalgh as new character Trish Winterman.

The third, and final, series of Broadchurch will see the detectives investigate a serious sexual assault and its consequences – as the drama’s Dorset community comes under scrutiny.

Other new cast members include Lenny Henry, Roy Hudd, Georgina Campbell, Sarah Parish, Charlie Higson and Mark Bazeley.

Jodie Whittaker and Andrew Buchan will be back as Beth and Mark Latimer, while Arthur Darvill returns as local vicar Paul Coates. Carolyn Pickles will reprise her role as newspaper editor Maggie Radcliffe and Adam Wilson will return as Ellie’s son Tom.

Broadchurch returns to ITV in 2017.
