Downton Abbey star joins The Crown

Having already swept one high-class Lady off her feet in Downton Abbey, Matthew Goode will be doing exactly the same thing in The Crown.

He has been cast as Antony Armstrong-Jones, aka Lord Snowdon, the society photographer who won the hand of Princess Margaret.

The couple were married from 1960 to 1978.

Goode previously played Henry Talbot, who married Lady Mary at the end of Downton Abbey.

Filing has already begun on series two of The Crown, which is expected to debut on Netflix later this year.

It will follow the family from the 1956 Suez crisis into the mid 1960s.
