The actor is a starring in a new off-Broadway production of the Shakespearian Classic which will open in New York this summer.

The production is being staged by New York’s Public Theater, with previews beginning on June 20 and the show running until September 3.

The cast will also include Keegan-Michael Key as Hamlet’s friend Horatio.

“Oscar Isaac starred in the first show I produced at the Delacorte, Two Gents in the summer of 2005. His Romeo two years later was more proof of his brilliance,” commented artistic director Oskar Eustis in a press statement.

“Sam Gold’s production of Fun Home was one of the most extraordinary directorial feats I’ve ever produced. The prospect of the two of them collaborating on what is arguably the greatest play ever written is joyous.”
