The Muppets are being rebooted (again)

The Muppets are set to be one of the Disney properties which will feature on the company’s new streaming service, due to launch in 2019.

According to reports, the plan is to give Jim Henson’s creations yet another reboot.

The gang last all together for their ABC series The Muppets which aired 16 episodes, ending in March 2016. That show was set around a late night talk show hosted by Miss Piggy. It started well but quickly tailed off.

A search for a writer for this new series is underway.

The Muppets will join several other brands which are expected to have streaming series on the new platform, including Star Wars, High School Musical, Monsters, Inc. and The Mighty Ducks.

The Parent Trap, Father of the Bride and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids may also get film reboots to run exclusively on the service.
