Marvel to celebrate its female superheroes

Marvel is teaming up with publisher Bonnier on a new book about 65 Marvel characters that “changed the universe”, including Captain Marvel, Black Widow, Shuri and Squirrel Girl.

It’s called Powers of a Girl and will be published on 11th July.

Publisher Helen Wicks said: “[We are] immensely proud to be publishing Marvel’s Powers of a Girl. This stunningly-illustrated, timely title shines a light upon the incredible female figures now taking centre stage in the Marvel Universe. It’s a book to encourage girls everywhere to go higher, further, faster.”

Written by Lorraine Cink and illustrated by Alice X Zhang, the book explores the responsibility but also the fun that comes with being a hero.
