Scorsese’s The Irishman to get tie-in book

The film tie-in edition of Charles Brandt’s I Heard You Paint Houses, the book on which Martin Scorsese’s latest film is based, will be published in the UK later this autumn.

The true crime book tells the story of the death of Jimmy Hoffa at the hands of hitman Frank Sheeran – the most notorious hit in mafia history.

Scorsese has filmed the book as The Irishman, starring Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci, and it will close this year’s BFI London Film Festival on 13th October.

I Heard You Paint Houses was originally published in 2004. The new edition will be published on 31st October.
