The 2019 BFI London Film Festival kicks off today with the European premiere of Armando Iannucci’s latest film The Personal History of David Copperfield.

The director is expected to walk the red carpet in Leicester Square, alongside members of his cast including Dev Patel, Ben Whishaw, Hugh Laurie, Gwendoline Christie, Peter Capaldi, Jairaj Varsani, Nikki Amuka-Bird and Rosalind Eleazar.

The film is based on Charles Dickens’ Victorian-era novel David Copperfield.
