Captain Sir Tom Moore, who became a British national treasure during lockdown, is to have a film made about his life.
Captain Tom raised £39 million for the NHS by walking laps of his garden in the run-up to his 100th birthday.
He also broke two Guinness World Records, achieved a number one hit single with You’ll Never Walk Alone, and was knighted by the Queen in a private ceremony at Windsor Castle.
Unsurprisingly Hollywood has come calling and a film about his life is expected to be released in 2021. He has signed a deal with the producers of Fisherman’s Friends and the forthcoming Blithe Spirit,
Speaking about the film, Captain Sir Tom Moore said: “I don’t know of any 100 year old actors but I’m sure Michael Caine or Anthony Hopkins could do a wonderful job if they were prepared to age up!”
