Disney is expected to announce a “Death Star-size trove of coming content” during its annual investor’s conference today.
According to the New York Times, Disney is planning to reveal a “significant expansion of the Star Wars universe.”
Among the announcements could be confirmation of a third season of The Mandalorian, as well as more details on the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.
The Cassian Andor series is believed to have begun quietly filming in London.
There’s also a female-centric series in the works from Russian Doll co-creator Leslye Headland that reportedly is set in a rather different timeline than we’ve seen before in other Star Wars projects.
There are also rumours of a Boba Fett series now that Temuera Morrison has returned to the Star Wars universe.
All of those projects will appear on Disney Plus, so can be classed as TV. What we don’t know is whether there are plans to expand the Star Wars films further. I guess we’ll have to wait to feel a change in the Force – or just wait for Disney to make its announcement, whichever comes first.
