Singer Robbie Williams will play himself in new film, Better Man.

The film, directed by The Greatest Showman helmer Michael Gracey, is based on hours of conversations the pair have had about Robbie’s life and career.

It will show Robbie’s “depths of despair,” Gracey told Baz Bamigboye, and will feature new recordings of old songs and possibly some new ones.

Better Man is “about a guy who’s looking in a mirror”, Gracey said. The role of Robbie Williams will be played and driven by Robbie Williams, with Gracey adding that the film will be “surreal” and “a bit like a fever dream”.

Filming is expected to take place in Australia at the beginning of 2022.
