Paul Mescal’s A Streetcar Named Desire heads to the West End

Oscar-nominated Paul Mescal is heading into the West End this spring.

He’s currently starring in A Streetcar Named Desire at the Almeida Theatre, which is due to run until 4th February.

It’s now been announced the production will transfer into the Phoenix Theatre, with dates from 20th March to 29th April.

Tickets, ranging from £15 to £125, go on sale on 1st February.

The production has won glowing reviews and is currently one of London’s hottest tickets – not least because of Mescal.

Speaking about the show’s move, he said: “I’m incredibly excited that Streetcar is being transferred to the West End with this formidable cast and creative team, led by the exceptionally talented Rebecca Frecknall. It’s my favourite play and it’s wonderful to be able to share it with a wider audience”.

Frecknall added: “I’m thrilled we will have the opportunity to share this production with a wider audience. It’s a testament to this fantastic company and incredible play. It’s been moving to see how audiences have responded to our work and I’m excited to see how the piece will evolve in the West End.”
