It looks like plans to turn JK Rowling’s Harry Potter books into a TV are edging ever closer, with reports a number of writers pitching to work on the show.

According to Deadline, at least four writers are pitching their vision for the series to streaming service MAX, which is planning to release the show once it’s made.

The report says the first round of meetings took place in Los Angeles this week, with more to come in the UK. There’s no word on whether JK Rowling is involved in the writing process but she is one of the series’ executive producers, adds the report.

The start of filming is still a long way off, but it does sound like the show is moving forwards.
