Gavin and Stacey co-creator and star Ruth Jones will appear alongside Richard E Grant as Mr and Mrs Bennet in the BBC’s adaptation of Janie Hadlow’s novel, The Other Bennet Sister.

Filming on the 10-part series has officially begun. The adaptation explores and expands the world of Pride and Prejudice through the often-overlooked perspective of Mary Bennet.

Indira Varma and Richard Coyle will play Mr and Mrs Gardiner, Mary’s worldly aunt and uncle.

Laurie Davidson and Dónal Finn have also joined the ensemble as Mr Ryder and Mr Hayward. They star alongside the previously announced Ella Bruccoleri (as Mary Bennet.

Doctor Who’s Varada Sethu will also feature in the series, playing the role of Ann Baxter.

The series will be available in the UK on BBC iPlayer and BBC One, and in the US and Canada, it will be on BritBox.
