I am so excited at the news that one of my favourite actresses is working with my favourite screenwriter on a film about Lucille Ball.

My 14 films to watch out for at London Film Festival
This morning the BFI London Film Festival announced its line-up for 2015. While there was. Lot to look forward to, there were also some glaring omissions (does LFF not like Eddie Redmayne??).
Now I’ve had some time to digest the line-up, here’s my (and this is very subjective) list of 14 films to watch.

It’s LFF launch day!
Today is one of my favourite days of the year – the day the BFI London Film Festival unveils its programme for 2015. The Festival consistently manages to programme most of the Best Pictures nominees every year – will 2015 be any different?
Steve Jobs – trailer
Here’s our first look at Michael Fassbender as Steve Jobs.

The film is directed by Danny Boyle and written by Aaron Sorkin (who’s quite good at writing about tech geniuses). The cast also includes Kate Winslet, Seth Rogen and Jeff Daniels.
Steve Jobs is released in the UK in November – which I think makes it an obvious contender for this year’s London Film Festival.
Winslet in talks for Jobs
Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet is in talks to play the lead female role in Jobs, the film about Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.
If she takes the role, Winslet will star alongside Michael Fassbender who is expected to star as Jobs. Seth Rogen is due to play Apple co-founder Steve Wozniack.
The film is being directed by Danny Boyle and is written by Aaron Sorkin.
The Governors’ Awards – major celebs due
Tomorrow night in LA the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences hosts its annual Governors’ Awards dinner.
The event has become more and more significant as a place for potential Ocsar nominees to schmooze Academy members as the race to February 22 kicks up a gear.
The list of expected guests this year features plenty of talent that will be hitting the campaign trail hard over the next few months including Jennifer Aniston, Emily Blunt, Chadwick Boseman, Steve Carell, Jessica Chastain, Ellar Coltrane, James Corden, Kevin Costner, Benedict Cumberbatch, Robert Downey Jr., Robert Duvall, Clint Eastwood, Jake Gyllenhaal, Felicity Jones, Michael Keaton, Keira Knightley, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Liam Neeson, Edward Norton, Jack O’Connell, Eddie Redmayne, Chris Rock, Mark Ruffalo, Andy Serkis, JK Simmons, Timothy Spall, Octavia Spencer, Hilary Swank, Tilda Swinton, Channing Tatum, Mark Wahlberg and Reese Witherspoon. Phew!
Fassbender as Steve Jobs?
Could Michael Fassbender finally be the actor who says yes to playing Apple boss Steve Jobs?
According to reports, Fassy is in talks to star in the drama which will be directed by Danny Boyle and is written by Aaron Sorkin – both Oscar winners.
Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale have both previously been said to be up for the role before both dropping out – which I find strange given the calibre of both the writer and director.
Will Fassbender stick with the project? We’ll just have to wait and see.
