In an attempt to show off his comedic ability as much as his wields-a-mythic-hammer-and-saves-nthe-Earth ability, Chris Hemsworth has joined the Ghostbusters reboot.

Of course he won’t be playing one of the ‘Busters as we know this is going to be an all-female gang. Instead, Hemsworth has signed on to play their receptionist (Annie Potts’ role in the original).

According to reports he was approached a while ago but turned the role down initially – since then the role has been significantly increased by the scriptwriter.

Filming on the new Ghostbusters begins later this summer. The cast also includes Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig.
