Hollywood arrives at the BFI London Film Festival tonight in the shape of Sigourney Weaver and (hopefully) Liam Neeson.
They are due to attend the gala screening of their new film A Monster Calls. It’s the story of an ancient tree (voiced by Neeson) who takes a young boy on a discovery of truth and courage. It’s one of the films that has really caught my eye in this year’s line-up.
Another film that’s been garnering a lot of buzz is Moonlight. It’s about a young boy coming of age in Miami as he grapples with first love and his sexuality. Bond star Naomie Harris will walk the red carpet at the film’s official screening alongside Mahershala Ali (currently doing his thing in Netflix’s Luke Cage).
If TV is more your thing, tonight sees LFF host a special preview of brand new episodes of Charlie Brooker’s Black Mirror. He’ll be joined at the event by director Joe Wright as well as cast members Bryce Dallas Howard, Alice Eve, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, James Norton, Jerome Flynn and Alex Lawther.
