This year’s BFI London Film Festival will open with Armando Iannucci’s The Personal History of David Copperfield.

The film stars Dev Patel as David Copperfield as well as Tilda Swinton, Hugh Laurie, Ben Whishaw, Peter Capaldi, Paul Whitehouse and Gwendoline Christie – with many of them expected on the red carpet.

The film will receive its European Premiere on Wednesday 2 October at Odeon Luxe, Leicester Square.

The 63rd BFI London Film Festival in partnership with American Express takes place from Wednesday 3 October — Sunday 13 October 2019. The full Festival programme will be announced on Thursday 29 August 2019.
