Julian Fellowes has confirmed there are plans for a sequel to the Downton Abbey film.

While discussing Belgravia, his new drama series for ITV and Epix, he was asked when he expects to begin work on the Downton sequel.

“Give us a break, gov. Not until I’ve finished the scripts for The Gilded Age,” he replied.

The Gilded Age is a drama series Fellowes is writing for HBO and is expected to shoot later this year. The cast includes Christine Baranski, Cynthia Nixon and Amanda Peet.
