Sam Mendes, whose new film 1917 could be picking up a few golden statuettes come Oscar night, is to feature in a new BBC series featuring in-depth interviews with filmmakers.
As well as Mendes, Life Cinematic will also include episodes devoted to Shaun of the Dead director Edgar Wright as well as artist-turned-film director Sam Taylor-Johnson.
The aim of the series is to look at filmmaking in a completely new way and each episode will feature clips from the director’s career.
Mendes’ episode airs on BBC Four on Thursday 30th January.
