Bradley Whitford and Judith Light are joining Andrew Garfield and Vanessa Hudgens in Tick, Tick…Boom!, Lin-Manuel Miranda’s big screen directorial debut.
The musical will also feature Broadway alum Joshua Henry as well as Alexandra Shipp and Robin de Jesus.
The film is based on Jonathan Larson’s autobiographical Off-Broadway show of the same name.
Garfield will play Jon, an aspiring theatre composer who waits tables in New York City while writing Superbia, which he hopes will be the great American musical that will finally give him his big career break. As Jon approaches his 30th birthday, he is overcome with anxiety, wondering if his impossible dream is worth the cost.
Whitford has been cast as musical legend Stephen Sondheim.
The film will be released by Netflix.
