George Clooney is producing a new TV series based on Buck Rogers in the 25th Century.

The actor/director is only producing – he won’t be starring in the show.

The original story follows World War One veteran Buck Rogers who becomes trapped in a coal mine and enters into a state of suspended animation, until he’s revived nearly 500 years later and finds himself in a war-torn landscape of what was once the United States.

Some older readers (like myself) might remember the 1979 TV series, complete with Twiki the robot.
