The BBC has released the first images from its forthcoming drama based on Adam Kay’s multi-million bestselling memoir, This is Going to Hurt.
Ben Whishaw plays the real-life doctor in the drama, which has just wrapped filming.
The series follows Adam as he attempt sot “cling to his personal life as he is increasingly overwhelmed by stresses at work: the 97-hour weeks, the life and death decisions, and all the while knowing the hospital parking meter is earning more than him.”
More cast have also been announced, including Michele Austin, as sharp-witted midwife Tracy, Alex Jennings as Adam’s domineering boss Mr Lockhart, Harriet Walter plays Adam’s mother Veronique, and Rory Fleck Byrne stars as his boyfriend Harry, with Tom Durant-Pritchard playing Adam’s best friend Greg.
The show is expected to debut on BBC One later this year.
