Thompson, Broadbent join Hugh Laurie’s Agatha Christie drama

Emma Thompson and Jim Broadbent are among the ensemble cast for new BritBox drama, Why Didn’t They Ask Evans?

The series is based on a 1934 mystery by Agatha Christie and has been adapted for the screen by Hugh Laurie, who also stars.

According to Variety, Thompson and Broadbent will play British aristocrats Lord and Lady Marcham. Lucy Boynton plays their daughter, the daring Lady Frankie, who finds herself on a murder mystery adventure alongside Will Poulter as Bobby Jones.

Laurie will play Dr James Nicholson, the creepy clinical director of a sanatorium.

The cast also includes Conleth Hill, Miles Jupp, Amy Nuttall, Paul Whitehouse, and Morwenna Banks.

The series is set to air on the streaming service some time in 2022.
