Idris Elba is returning to his iconic role of John Luther for a new film being produced by the BBC and Netflix.

Neil Cross, who created and wrote the series, has also written the script for the film.

Elba will be joined by Andy Serkis and Cynthia Erivo in the project, which will see Luther having to contend with a double threat.

Erivo is playing a detective who is also Luther’s nemesis while Serkis is the story’s villain.

The film begins shooting in November.
