A new film based on Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games prequel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes will be released in November 2023.
The plot is set years prior to the original story and follows the 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow, who goes on to become the tyrannical President of Panem.
The young Snow sees a chance for a change in fortunes when he is chosen to be mentor to Lucy Gray Baird, the tribute from impoverished District 12.
Francis Lawrence, who directed the Jennifer Lawrence-starring films, returns as director.
No details of the film’s cast have been revealed.
