Sky has released the first teaser of its new limited drama series This England starring Kenneth Branagh as UK prime minister Boris Johnson.

The series, previously known as This Sceptred Isle, is due to air on Sky Atlantic and NOW later this year.

It is based on Johnson’s first months as PM, tracing the impact on Britain of the first wave of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The events in government are interwoven with stories from around the UK, from the experts and scientists racing against time to understand the virus; the doctors, nurses and care-home workers on the frontline working tirelessly and heroically to contain and overcome it; and ordinary people whose lives were thrown into turmoil.

The cast also includes Ophelia Lovibond as Carrie Johnson and Andrew Buchan as Matt Hancock.
