Cush Jumbo will play Lady Macbeth alongside David Tennant’s doomed King in a new production of Macbeth at the Donmar Warehouse in London.

The pair previously starred together in Channel 4 drama Deadwater Fell.

“I’m so thrilled that Cush Jumbo will be returning to the Donmar after her extraordinary performance as Mark Antony in the Shakespeare Trilogy to take on the role of Lady Macbeth,” said director Max Webster.

“I think she will bring power, emotion, and great humanity to this iconic role and will be absolutely electric alongside David Tennant. I can’t wait to start rehearsals.”

The production opens on 15th December 2023, and runs until 10th February 2024
