Sky is making a new documentary about British comic legend Rik Mayall.

The film, titled Rik Mayall: Magnificent B’stard explores his comedic journey, creative partnership with Adrian Edmondson, complicated relationship with alcohol and the near-fatal quad bike accident that left him fighting for his life.

It will feature interviews with the likes of Stephen Fry, Ben Elton, Greg Davies, Paul Jackson, John Lloyd, Nigel Planer and Adrian Edmondson, as well as family archive, unheard audio recordings and previously unseen sketches.

Details of the film’s broadcast have not yet been announced.
