Dates for your Diary – November 29

As the festive season edges ever closer, celebs are busy promoting their new projects – be it films, books or TV projects.

Over the next few weeks London will see everyone from Chris Hemsworth to Eddie Redmayne to Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman meeting their fans.

Spectre director Sam Mendes is at BAFTA on November 30 to take part in A Life in Pictures. The award-winning director will discuss everything from his debut film, American Beauty, to his more recent work on the Bond franchise.

Chris Hemsworth is back on the red carpet in London for the UK premiere of In The Heart of the Sea on December 2. He’ll be joined by director Ron Howard at the premiere which takes place at the Empire Leicester Square.

On December 4, Kate Winslet discusses her career in another of BAFTA’s A Life in Pictures.

Stephen Rea, Tuppence Middleton, Caroline Quentin, Ned Dennehy, Omid Djalili and Joseph Quinn will be at the British Film Institute on the Southbank on December 7 for a preview of their BBC drama, Dickensian. The 20-part series features some of Charles Dickens’ most loved characters and is even being described as a Victorian-Avengers!

Eddie Redmayne, Alicia Vikander, Matthias Schoenarts and director Tom Hooper will be at the UK premiere of The Danish Girl on December 8. The Oscar-hopeful premieres at Odeon Leicester Square.

On December 9 comedian Matt Berry is at Foyles on Charing Cross Road to discuss his book, Toast on Toast.

Pointless hosts Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman promote their book, The A to Z of Pointless, at Waterstones in Leadenhall Market on December 10.

Michael Gambon joins Lindsay Duncan and Romola Garai at the BFI Southbank on December 17 to discuss their drama, Churchill’s Secret. The ITV drama is set in 1953 when the Prime Minister suffered a stroke that was kept secret from the public.
