If you’re an awards season watcher like me, then I would suggest you don’t count Felicity Jones out of this year’s Best Actress race.
She stars in the true drama On the Basis Of Sex, about US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg who led the fight against gender discrimination.
To be honest, the film couldn’t be more timely. RBG was one of only a few women accepted at Harvard Law and went on to co-found the Women’s Rights Project at the ACLU.
She overcame all odds to become one of the most influential figures in the battle for equal rights, passionately arguing ground-breaking landmark cases and giving a voice to those unable to be heard.
Starring alongside Jones are Armie Hammer as her husband Marty, a talented lawyer in his own right who offers unwavering support to his wife, as well as Justin Theroux and Kathy Bates. The film is directed by Mimi Leder and written by Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s nephew, Daniel Stiepleman.
