Jack O’Connell is to lead the cast of a new BBC drama about the founding members of the SAS.
SAS: Rogue Heroes has been adapted for the screen by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight.
It is based on Ben Macintyre’s 2016 book of the same name which details how the SAS was created during World War II when Winston Churchill called for a unit prepared to use “butcher and bolt” tactics, while carrying out undercover work.
According to Baz Bamigboye, O’Connell will portray one of the original members, Paddy Mayne.
The cast will also include Alfie Allen, Connor Swindells, and Jacob McCarthy.
Filming on the six-part drama is set to begin next month.
